A Lawrence County man has pleaded guilty to charges of sexually abusing a minor, as announced by Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost. Eric Hanna, 44, from South Point, entered his plea a day before his jury trial was set to commence.

Hanna admitted guilt to one count of gross sexual imposition, classified as a third-degree felony. He had been indicted on this charge in May 2023. The jury trial was initially scheduled for February 11.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation that revealed Hanna had engaged in sexual contact with a minor under the age of 13.

Sentencing for Hanna is scheduled for March 11 at 2 p.m. The case is being prosecuted by attorneys from Attorney General Yost’s Special Prosecutions Section.
