Greg R. Lawson, a research fellow at The Buckeye Institute, shared his thoughts following the passage of the budget conference committee report by both chambers of the Ohio General Assembly. House Bill 96, which outlines Ohio's biennial budget, is now awaiting Governor DeWine's signature.

Lawson stated, "The budget that passed both chambers of the Ohio General Assembly contains a lot of good, pro-growth policies—a flat income tax, closing tax loopholes, reining in Medicaid, and smart property tax reforms." He acknowledged that while there is more work to be done in areas such as education and local government reforms, this budget represents progress for Ohio.
