A Venezuelan national, Anthony Emmanuel Labrador-Sierra, residing in Perrysburg, Ohio, has been indicted on federal charges. The 24-year-old faces a four-count indictment by a federal grand jury for possession of a firearm by an alien unlawfully in the United States, making a false statement during the purchase of a firearm, and making or using false writings or documents.

The indictment accuses Labrador-Sierra of submitting incorrect birth information to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on applications for Temporary Protective Status and Employment Authorization Documents in 2024 and 2025.

According to the criminal complaint filed on May 22, 2025, investigators were informed by Perrysburg Schools that Labrador-Sierra was actually a 24-year-old man enrolled under false pretenses at Perrysburg High School.

The grand jury alleges that Labrador-Sierra possessed a Taurus G3C 9mm semiautomatic pistol without lawful status to purchase or own it in the U.S. He is also accused of providing false information on ATF Form 4473 to acquire the firearm. Among these alleged statements were claims that he was a U.S. citizen or national, not illegally in the country, and not an alien who entered under a nonimmigrant visa.

If convicted, Labrador-Sierra could face up to 15 years for possession of a firearm by an alien; up to 10 years for making false statements during the purchase of a firearm; and up to five years for making or using false writings or documents.

The investigation involves multiple agencies including the City of Perrysburg Police Department, United States Border Patrol−Sandusky Bay Station, FBI Toledo Field Office, and ATF with assistance from Wood County Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecutors handling this case are Assistant U.S. Attorneys Robert N. Melching and Tracey Tangeman for the Northern District of Ohio along with Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Dobson.

This investigation is ongoing. Individuals with information are encouraged to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or visit fbi.gov/tips.

An indictment serves as an allegation only; all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt in court.
