NFIB Assistant State Director Cameron Garczyk led a group of Ohio small business owners to Washington, D.C. from June 9-11 for the NFIB’s 2025 Fly-In event. This annual gathering provides NFIB members with the opportunity to meet directly with their elected officials on Capitol Hill.

During this year's event, the Ohio delegation engaged with seven Congressional offices. Discussions focused on making the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent and repealing beneficial ownership reporting requirements.

NFIB members met with Senator Bernie Moreno, expressing gratitude for his co-sponsorship of the Big Brother Overreach Act, which aims to repeal these reporting requirements. They also urged Senator Jon Husted to support this legislation alongside Senator Moreno.

The delegation thanked Congressman Warren Davidson for his leadership in efforts to repeal beneficial ownership requirements and as the lead sponsor of the Big Brother Overreach Act. Congressman Jim Jordan engaged in discussions about the Small Business Deduction. Additionally, meetings were held with representatives from the offices of Rep. Mike Carey, Rep. Mike Turner, and Rep. Troy Balderson. The NFIB Ohio delegation encouraged all Congress members to support HR 1, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which seeks to make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent.

“The 2025 Fly-In was a great success for Ohio small business owners who got to speak with several members of Congress and both of our U.S. Senators on the small business economy,” said Garczyk. “Our members made sure the voices of Ohio’s small businesses were heard on Capitol Hill.”
