The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Ohio's prominent small business advocacy group, has expressed approval following the signing of the state budget by Governor DeWine. Cameron Garczyk, NFIB Ohio Assistant State Director, issued a statement highlighting the positive aspects of the new budget.

"We commend Governor DeWine and the General Assembly for crafting a state budget that strengthens Ohio’s pro-growth, business-friendly climate," Garczyk stated. He emphasized that the preservation of the Business Income Deduction, addressing workforce and childcare issues, and instituting a flat income tax signal that "Ohio is open for business and committed to helping entrepreneurs grow, invest, and create jobs."

Garczyk also noted some areas where further work is needed. "While we were hopeful to see significant property tax reform and regulatory reform measures remain in the budget," he said, "NFIB looks forward to working with the General Assembly and the Governor to continue advancing these and other policies that protect and empower Ohio’s job creators."

The Business Income Deduction remains intact in this budget, allowing small business owners to reinvest in their operations and employees. This move aligns with NFIB's long-standing advocacy for economic certainty and competitiveness among Ohio's one million small businesses.

"Small businesses are the foundation of Ohio’s economy and communities," Garczyk added. "This budget ensures the Buckeye State remains a place where they can thrive."
