The Buckeye Institute has been named a finalist for the national Bob Williams Award for Outstanding Policy Achievement. The nomination is in the "Biggest Win for Freedom" category, recognizing the institute's role in advocating for Ohio House Bill 15, which is considered a significant energy reform policy.
Robert Alt, president and CEO of The Buckeye Institute, expressed gratitude for being considered for the award. He stated, "The Buckeye Institute-championed reforms guarantee reliable and affordable energy for Ohio families and small businesses for generations to come, and establish Ohio as a national leader in smart, sensible, free-market energy policy. We could not be prouder of this significant achievement."
Voting for the award is restricted to registered attendees of the State Policy Network’s 33rd Annual Meeting. The winners will be announced during the Celebration of Success Dinner on August 27, 2025, in New Orleans.
The Buckeye Institute published a report titled Better Energy Policy for Ohio in collaboration with Americans for Prosperity-Ohio. This report was instrumental in calling for bold reforms and laid the groundwork that led to the passage of Ohio House Bill 15.
The Bob Williams Awards are presented annually at SPN’s Annual Meeting to honor significant contributions to public policy.
