The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) has issued a draft Permit to Operate (PTO) for Crites Farms, located at 1660 Glenburg Road, Bryan, Ohio. This facility is situated in Defiance County, Tiffin Township, within the Tiffin Watershed. The draft permit is open for public comment as per OAC rule 901:10-6-01.

If approved, the PTO will be valid for five years. Interested parties can obtain a copy of the draft permit by submitting a public records request through the ODA's website. The deadline for submitting written comments or requesting a public meeting is July 31, 2025, by 5 p.m.

Comments can be mailed to the Ohio Department of Agriculture's Division of Livestock Environmental Permitting at their Reynoldsburg address or emailed to lepp@agri.ohio.gov. Comments received after the deadline will not be considered.

A public meeting may be held if required under OAC 901:10-6-04(C), and attendees have the right to provide written or oral statements if such a meeting occurs. The Division maintains an "interested parties" list for notifications regarding draft permits and encourages individuals to join by contacting them via email or phone.
