A Ravenna, Ohio man has been sentenced to more than 10 years in federal prison for receiving and distributing child sexual abuse materials. Daniel Alan Robertson, 47, received a sentence of 121 months from U.S. District Judge Charles Esque Fleming after pleading guilty in May to charges related to the receipt and distribution of visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, as well as possession of child pornography.
Robertson was also ordered to serve 10 years of supervised release following his imprisonment. In addition, he must pay $117,500 in restitution and $10,000 under the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act assessments.
According to court documents, between March 1 and December 4, 2024, Robertson used peer-to-peer file sharing programs to download and distribute images and videos depicting children in sexually explicit situations. Federal agents executed a search warrant at his residence in December 2024 and seized several electronic devices. Investigators found these devices contained images and videos involving children under the age of 12 and included sadistic or violent content. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reviewed the materials to help identify victims; more than 20 victims were identified through this process.
The investigation was led by the FBI Cleveland Division, Portage County Sheriff’s Office, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol-Office of Investigative Services Computer Crimes Unit.
