State Senator Theresa Gavarone has received the Guardian of Small Business Award from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), which is considered the organization's highest honor for lawmakers in Ohio. The award was presented at Mr. Spots, a restaurant owned by Gavarone and an NFIB member business in Bowling Green.

Cameron Garczyk, NFIB’s Ohio Assistant State Director, said, “Senator Gavarone comes from a small business family and knows firsthand the impact legislation has on Main Street. During her time in the Ohio Legislature, Sen. Gavarone has earned a 100% NFIB Voting Record by prioritizing small business issues. She was a leader in preserving the Business Income Deduction, championed significant ballot reform measures, and has advocated for pro-consumer energy policy. We’re proud to name her a Small Business Guardian today and thank her for her support of Ohio’s small businesses.”

Gavarone represents Senate District 2 and serves as Majority Floor Leader in the Ohio Senate.
