The Bowling Green State University men's golf team has announced the addition of two transfer athletes, David Chavez and Angelo Luciani, for the 2025-26 season. Head coach John Powers confirmed that these new members will complete the team's roster for the upcoming year.

David Chavez comes to Bowling Green from Virginia State University, where he played at the NCAA Division II level for two seasons. Originally from Pensacola, Florida, Chavez had a notable freshman year at VSU. He participated in ten tournaments, played 26 rounds, and maintained a scoring average of 75.3 strokes per round. During the 2023-24 season, he secured three top-three finishes and won the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Northern Division Championship. He followed this by placing second individually at the CIAA Men's Golf Championship with a score of 212 (-4 under par).

In his sophomore year at VSU during the 2024-25 season, Chavez continued to perform well in ten tournaments with another set of three top-three finishes and improved his scoring average to 74.6 strokes per round. He won the CIAA Men's Golf Championship after shooting a 215 (-1 under par). Chavez will join Bowling Green as a junior and is expected to bring significant NCAA experience to the Falcons.

Angelo Luciani transfers from Grand Canyon University, where he competed on their club golf team. From Grand Rapids, Michigan, Luciani has played golf at various levels including participation in the First Tee National Championships in both 2021 and 2022. Over two seasons at Grand Canyon University, Luciani won four National Collegiate Club Golf Association (NCCGA) events and was named Co-Individual Champion at the 2024 NCCGA Spring Championship after shooting a 68 (-4 under par).

This past summer, Luciani competed in several local tournaments across Michigan. In May, he finished second at the West Michigan Amateur with a total score of 214 (+4 over par). In June, he took part in the Michigan Open Championship at Shanty Creek's Cedar River Golf Course and finished with a score of 288 (+4 over par) after four rounds.
