The United States Attorney’s Office has announced that federal grand juries in the Northern District of Ohio have returned indictments against three Mexican nationals for illegal reentry into the United States. The charges are based on Title 8 U.S. Code 1326, with one defendant also facing charges related to fraudulent documents. These cases are separate and unrelated.

Raul Samano-Fuerte, aged 49, is charged with illegal reentry after being removed from the United States four times, most recently on March 10, 2009. He was found in Norwalk, Ohio on June 23, 2025, without consent for readmission from the U.S. Attorney General or Secretary for Homeland Security.

Gonzalo Diaz-Resendiz, aged 29, faces similar charges after being previously removed at least once, with the latest removal occurring on September 6, 2013. He was discovered in Ottawa, Ohio on June 30, 2025.

Cesar Ramirez-Velazquez, also known as Cesar Ramirez-Rincon and aged 44, is charged with illegal reentry following two previous removals from the country. His last removal was on June 7, 2009. He was found again in Norwalk, Ohio on March 19, 2024. Additionally, he faces charges for possessing fraudulent identification documents and misuse of a Social Security Number.

The investigations were conducted by the U.S. Border Patrol-Sandusky Bay Station and Assistant U.S. Attorney Ava Rotell Dustin is handling the prosecution.

It is important to note that an indictment is merely a charge and not evidence of guilt. Each defendant is entitled to a fair trial where it will be up to the government to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

If convicted, sentences will be determined by the Court based on factors unique to each case including prior criminal records and roles in offenses.

These cases are part of Operation Take Back America aimed at combating illegal immigration and protecting communities from violent crime perpetrators.
