Zanesville man arrested for alleged threats against Noble County sheriff

A 30-year-old man from Zanesville has been arrested following allegations that he made death threats against Noble County Sheriff Jason Mackie. The arrest was the result of an investigation by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI).

Authorities identified the suspect as Tyler Eschman. He was taken into custody on Thursday after being located on an unrelated outstanding warrant. Eschman has been charged in Noble County Court with intimidation, a third-degree felony, and menacing by stalking, a fourth-degree felony. He appeared for arraignment and is currently held on a $100,000 bond.

The Noble County Prosecutor’s Office is overseeing the case. The BCI’s Special Investigations Unit continues to investigate the matter.
