Rep. Paul Zeltwanger (R-Mason) is renewing calls for the impeachment of Gov. Mike DeWine in the wake of the governor’s recent curfew order.

“We are issuing a curfew in Ohio that will start Thursday,” DeWine tweeted. “This will run from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for 21 days. We believe this will help reduce #COVID19 spread. I'm also asking each Ohioan every day to do at least one thing that reduces your contact with others.

Zeltwanger told the Buckeye Reporter that DeWine’s continued executive orders are an unconditional abuse of power.

“The balance of power and checks and balances is a bedrock of our Republic Democracy,” Zeltwanger said. “Under no circumstances should any person have unchecked powers. SB 311 is a good first step in reinstalling checks and balances into Ohio.”

Zeltwanger is a co-sponsor of legislation that would impeach DeWine.

“This is America,” Zeltwanger said. “The land of the free because of the brave. It's past time that brave legislators step up to reinstate the balance of power in Ohio.”

DeWine has been called the most “egregious” of lockdown governors.
