Job Opening: Business Administrator

JOB:  BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR  - UNCLASSIFIED, NON-EXEMPT POSITION

DEPARTMENT:  COMMISSIONERS OFFICE

 

SUMMARY

The business administrator will execute the directives issued by the Board of Commissioners, with emphasis on special projects and public relations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Higher education and/or 5+ years relevant experience
  • Comfortable with public relations 
  • Ability to prepare and present effective written and oral reports and presentations
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion
  • Work efficiently with the ability to multi-task and prioritize the board’s daily goals
  • Handle sensitive inquiries from public and/or officials and maintain confidentiality
  • Minimum three (3) years of MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Proficiency in the use of office equipment, computers, and various computer software
  • Notary Public* and a valid driver’s license required
 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and apply for grants, manage complete grant cycles, compliance and audits
  • Oversee county website and manage updates, announcements; create and maintain ancillary pages
  • Manage county Facebook page
  • Represent county and board of commissioners with correspondence among elected officials, government agencies, media and community
  • Collaborate with other county departments on projects, initiatives and challenges
  • Understand structure and process including CORSA/CCAO procedures, labor laws & employment laws & regulations*
  • Prepare summaries and reports, research and complete wage and benefit surveys
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Obtain an understanding of American Rescue Plan Act funding and compliance
