Dobama Emerging Artist Program Accepting Applications Until May 1

B

Dobama Theatre is accepting applications for the Dobama Emerging Actors Program (DEAP). DEAP is a process-centered and technique-based program for serious young actors from high school freshmen to college seniors.

DEAP students work with faculty, guest artists, and master teachers with extensive professional experiences. Classes, rehearsals and the culminating workshop performance are centered on ensemble building, character development, storytelling and communication, and text analysis. The DEAP ensemble performs in blackbox style, stripping away elaborate sets and costumes so that students and audience members are left to focus on the work of the actors on stage.

There is a tuition for this program to cover courses, workshops, and production fees. However, no student will be turned away due to financial obstacles! Financial aid up to 100% of the cost of tuition is available.

The Dobama Theatre is located at 2340 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights, 44118. Apply for the program online; Applications must be received by May 1, 2022. For questions or concerns, please email deap@dobama.org.
