COLUMBUS—This week, tensions have escalated on college campuses across the country between pro-Hamas protestors and law enforcement officers. On Ohio State’s campus, protestors were heard shouting, “CPD, KKK, IDF, they’re all the same,” linking Columbus police, the Ku Klux Klan, and the Israeli Defense Forces. The growing antisemitism among these protestors has drawn attention, with Sherrod Brown facing criticism for his stance on Israel. Israel even rebuked him for “equating them with Hamas.”

According to the article, Sherrod Brown's stance on Israel has been a point of contention. Despite the criticism, Brown has not changed his position, which has led to embarrassment for him as a U.S. Senator from Ohio. In contrast, U.S. Senate Candidate Bernie Moreno has been resolute in his call for "law and order" on campuses, emphasizing the need to address the chaos promptly.

The Ohio Republican Party has taken a clear stand against antisemitism. In December 2023, the State Central Committee passed a resolution condemning antisemitism in all its forms, including on college campuses and within the Democratic Party. The resolution stated, “the Ohio Republican Party unequivocally condemns antisemitism in all of its forms, including, but not limited to, on U.S. college campuses, among some members of Congress in the Democrat Party, and among any hate group that targets the Jewish people.”

Ohio voters are reportedly paying attention to the positions taken by political figures on issues like supporting Israel and maintaining law and order on campuses. The divide between the two parties on these matters is becoming increasingly apparent, with Republicans emphasizing their support for law enforcement and Israel, while Democrats are being accused of aligning with the radical left.
