FOIA Request to Gallia County Regarding Vendor Payments in 2024 on September 26, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Buckeye Reporter have requested specific records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq. The request was made for these records to be provided preferably in an electronic format.
The records sought are a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024, till September 26, 2024. The information required includes the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and the amount paid.
As members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
