FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments in 2024 on September 26, 2024. As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at DeKalb Times have requested records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140.
The records we seek are a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024 till September 26, 2024. We specifically asked for the following fields: Vendor Name, Transaction Date, Transaction Description, and Amount.
As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
