FOIA Request to Miami County Regarding Public Records from January to October 2024 on October 7, 2024.
In a bid to promote transparency and hold public institutions accountable, we at Buckeye Reporter have submitted a request for public records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq. This request was sent to Miami County on October 7, 2024.
The records requested include a list of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) logs that were sent to the county from January 1, 2024, till October 7, 2024. The fields we are interested in include the requester's name and organization, the content of the request, the date of the request and its completion date, as well as the status of the FOIA.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to these public records is essential for us at Buckeye Reporter. It enables us to fulfill our professional responsibilities effectively.
We believe that as media professionals involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver. We eagerly await a positive response from Miami County regarding this matter.
