FOIA Request to Hocking County Regarding FOIA Logs from January to October 2024 on October 7, 2024.
As part of our commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Buckeye Reporter have sent a request for records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq., to Hocking County.
Our request specifically pertains to a list of FOIA logs that were sent to the county from January 1, 2024 till October 7, 2024. The requested information includes fields such as the requester's name and organization, content of the request, date of the request and its completion, as well as the status of the FOIA.
As a media organization, we are involved in gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
We await a positive response from Hocking County as this will enable us to continue delivering reliable news updates about local government affairs.
