A FOIA request was sent to Putnam County, Ohio on October 7, 2024. We at Buckeye Reporter are committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. As part of our ongoing efforts, we have requested the following records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq., preferably in electronic format:
We asked for a list of FOIA logs that were sent to the county from January 1, 2024 till October 7, 2024 with the following fields: Requester Name, Requester Organization, Request Content, Request Date, Request Complete Date and FOIA Status.
As members of the media, we are involved in gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
We await their response and will continue our work in ensuring transparency within local government operations.
