FOIA Request to Pickaway County Regarding Public Records from January to October 2024 on October 7, 2024.
As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Buckeye Reporter have requested public records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq., from Pickaway County. The request was sent on October 7, 2024.
The records requested include a list of FOIA logs that were sent to the county from January 1, 2024 till October 7, 2024. The specific fields we are interested in are the requester's name and organization, the content of the request, the date when the request was made and completed, as well as the status of the FOIA.
Access to these public records is essential for us in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
