FOIA Request to Ashtabula County Regarding FOIA Logs from January to October 2024 on October 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Buckeye Reporter have submitted a request for records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq.
The request, sent on October 7, 2024, specifically seeks access to a list of FOIA logs that were sent to Ashtabula County from January 1, 2024 till October 7, 2024. The fields requested include the requester's name and organization, the content of the request, the date of the request and its completion date as well as the status of the FOIA.
As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
