NSSF, the Firearm Industry Trade Association, has called on President-elect Donald Trump to disband the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention. The office was established under President Joe Biden and is criticized by NSSF for not addressing criminal misuse of firearms. Instead, the association claims it misused taxpayer funds and employed former gun control lobbyists to infringe upon Second Amendment rights.

Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF's senior vice president and general counsel, stated, "President-elect Trump has the ability to stand strong with law-abiding Second Amendment supporters and wipe away this unprecedented abuse of government authority that has been used as a blunt instrument against rights that are protected by the U.S. Constitution."

The office was created in September 2023 under Vice President Kamala Harris' supervision as part of the Biden-Harris administration's gun control efforts. Stefanie Feldman serves as director while Greg Jackson acts as special assistant to the president and deputy director. Rob Wilcox is also on staff, previously a lobbyist for Everytown for Gun Safety.

The White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention faces criticism for its involvement in policy positions perceived as counter to Second Amendment rights. It is under investigation by the U.S. House of Representatives Oversight Committee but has yet to comply with subpoenas from Chairman James Comer.
