Thomas Massie, a U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky's 4th district, has expressed his opposition to a policy by President Joe Biden concerning debt forgiveness for Ukraine. Massie took to social media to announce his legislative efforts against this move.

On November 20, 2024, Massie tweeted: "On his way out, Joe Biden is trying to forgive $4.65 billion of debt Ukraine owes America's taxpayers. I just introduced H.J.Res 224 to stop this 'America Last' policy from taking effect."

Two days later, on November 22, 2024, he reiterated his stance and thanked fellow representatives for their support: "On his way out, Joe Biden is trying to forgive $4.65 billion of debt Ukraine owes America's taxpayers. Thank you to @Rep_Clyde, @repluna, and @repmarymiller for cosponsoring H.J.Res 224 to stop this 'America Last' policy from taking effect."

Later the same day, Massie further acknowledged additional co-sponsors of the resolution in another tweet: "On his way out, Joe Biden is trying to forgive $4.65 billion of debt Ukraine owes America's taxpayers. Thank you to @RepWPH, @RepBrecheen, and @RepGusBilirakis for cosponsoring H.J.Res 224 to stop this 'America Last' policy from taking effect."
