The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), a key advocate for small businesses in Ohio, has awarded Senator Steve Huffman the Guardian of Small Business Award. The award was presented by NFIB member and small business owner Steve Bruns at his establishment, Bruns General Contracting, located in Tipp City.
Chris Ferruso, NFIB Ohio State Director, commented on Senator Huffman's achievements: “Senator Steve Huffman is a proven leader for small businesses in the Ohio Legislature. He earned a perfect NFIB voting record, is the lead sponsor for legislation to eliminate Ohio’s income tax, and is the leading caucus voice against health insurance mandates. We are proud to name Senator Huffman a Guardian of Small Business and know he will continue to prioritize small businesses in Columbus.”
Steve Bruns also praised Senator Huffman's efforts: “It was a pleasure to recognize Senator Huffman today as a strong supporter of our state’s small businesses. He has been a staunch advocate for creating a better economy by lowering taxes and reducing regulations and I know he will continue to do great work for Ohio’s Main Street.”
Senator Steve Huffman expressed his gratitude upon receiving the award: “I am humbled to receive the Guardian of Small Business Award from the NFIB,” said Senator Steve Huffman. “To be in the same group as my friend and mentor Jim Buchy and Bob Netzley, who proudly served for 44 years representing Miami County in the General Assembly. The National Federation of Independent Business and small businesses are truly the backbone of the economy of Miami County, the Fifth Senate District, and Ohio. I am very glad I have been able to support the advancement of small businesses the past ten years in the Ohio Senate and Ohio House and will for years to come.”
