Ohio small businesses impacted by the drought starting on August 20, 2024, are eligible for federal Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) provided by the Small Business Administration. These loans are available to both farm-related and non-farm-related entities that have experienced financial losses due to the drought.

Eligible businesses can apply for loans up to $2 million with an interest rate of 4% for small businesses. The loan terms can extend up to 30 years, with no interest accruing or payments required until 12 months after the first loan disbursement.

The loans are accessible to small businesses in Ohio's primary counties including Athens, Belmont, Fairfield, Fayette, Gallia, Guernsey, Harrison, Highland, Hocking, Jackson, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, Vinton and Washington. Adjacent counties such as Adams, Brown, Carroll and others are also included.

Applications can be submitted online at SBA.gov/disaster. The deadline for applications is April 28, 2025.
