Ohio Leadership Council honors NFIB members' dedication to small business

On July 24, 2024, the Ohio Leadership Council of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) convened for its quarterly meeting. During this event, several NFIB members were recognized for their commitment to small businesses.

Chris Ferruso, NFIB Ohio State Director, expressed gratitude towards these members. "This LC meeting was a special one as I was honored to recognize a few of our long-time members and personally thank them for all that they do for the small business community," said Ferruso. He added that the NFIB Ohio office is proud to have such dedicated members advocating for small businesses.

Among those acknowledged was Fred Horner from Advanced Industrial Roofing in Massillon, who received a plaque commemorating his 35-year membership with NFIB since joining in 1989.

Steve Dackin, Director of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, addressed attendees on how small businesses and educators can collaborate to align business needs with educational outcomes and student success.

Steve Bruns from Bruns Construction Enterprises and Bruns Realty Group in Tipp City received an appreciation plaque for his six years of service on the Ohio Leadership Council. Bruns has been an NFIB member since 1983.

Allen Perk from XLN Systems in Gahanna was also recognized with an appreciation plaque for his 13 years of service on the council. Perk has been affiliated with NFIB since 2002.

Doug Johnson from Johnson Electrical Supply in Cincinnati was awarded the 2024 Small Business Champion Award for his significant efforts in supporting NFIB’s mission and advocating for small businesses.
