The NFIB Ohio PAC has officially thrown its support behind Judge Meghan Shanahan, Judge Dan Hawkins, and Justice Joe Deters in their bids for election to the Ohio Supreme Court. The announcement, made on September 10, 2024, aligns with the interests of the state's small business community.

Chris Ferruso, NFIB Ohio State Director, expressed the importance of the state's highest court as a bulwark against "government overreach and unfair regulations," highlighting the necessity of having a "predictable, stable Supreme Court that will not legislate from the bench." Ferruso affirmed that Shanahan, Hawkins, and Deters possess the requisite experience to serve as "fair, impartial, and disciplined Justices."

In addition to NFIB, the endorsement is supported by other prominent business organizations, notably the Ohio Business Roundtable, Ohio Chamber of Commerce, and the Ohio Farm Bureau.

"We proudly endorse Judges Meghan Shanahan, Dan Hawkins, and Justice Joe Deters to the Ohio Supreme Court," Ferruso stated, underscoring the alignment between these candidates' judicial philosophies and the business community's need for stability.

These endorsements come amid a broader effort by business groups to back judicial candidates that reflect their interests in the legal landscape of Ohio.
