On July 16, the Ohio Leadership Council of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) held a meeting in Columbus that brought together 30 members. The event included guest speakers, elections for new council members, and recognition of small business owners.
Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Sharon Kennedy addressed the Leadership Council. She discussed the judicial system in Ohio and shared insights into the workings of the Supreme Court. During the meeting, two new members were elected to join the Leadership Council: Bruce Lackey from Grove City and Robert Greiner from Steubenville.
NFIB also marked long-term membership by presenting 30-year anniversary plaques to Scott Lipps of Sleep Tite Mattress Factory in Franklin and Thad Claggett of Claggett and Sons Inc. in Newark. In addition, Kellie Loudin of Rumer-Loudin in Barnesville received Ohio’s Small Business Champion Award.
A legislative update webinar was also made available for those interested in recent developments affecting small businesses.
