After investigating a report from July 12, 2025, about an abandoned infant on the 900 block of Wayside Avenue, the Cleveland Division of Police has determined that the child was not abandoned. Detectives conducted several weeks of investigation, which included reviewing surveillance footage and conducting multiple interviews. They concluded that the initial claim—that the infant was found alone—was false.

According to authorities, two individuals have been charged with filing a false report in connection with this incident. The police also confirmed that the infant is in good health.
