Veteran security professional joins BCSD

6

Thaddeus Hete joined BCSD this month as the security supervisor. Mr. Hete comes to the district from the Warrensville Heights City Schools where he served for more than six years as that district's security director.

His office is at Bedford High School, but Mr. Hete is in charge of security districtwide.

Before he began working at Warrensville Schools, he worked for 10 years as a special education teacher for the Akron Public Schools and also served in law enforcement, rising through the ranks of patrolman, sergeant, detective lieutenant and chief of the Norton Police Department. He retired in 2015.

His goal is to make Bedford Schools the "gold standard" in safety and security. He wants "to ensure a safe and secure environment for all district students, staff and visitors."

Dr. Andrea Celico, superintendent, said Mr. Hete brings a wealth of experience to the role.

"Mr. Hete's school security, education and law enforcement experience make him the ideal person to serve as our new security supervisor," she said.

In his spare time, Mr. Hete enjoys running and cycling. He and his wife, Emily, who is an attorney, have two children.
