Thomas Massie, a U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky's 4th district since 2012, recently shared his views on various legislative matters through a series of tweets. Born in Huntington, West Virginia, Massie has been active in politics for over a decade and holds a degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

On March 19, 2025, Massie expressed gratitude towards Representative Mark Green for supporting his legislative effort to dismantle the Federal Department of Education. He stated: "Thank you to @RepMarkGreen for cosponsoring my bill to eliminate the Federal Department of Education (HR 899). Unelected bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. should not be in charge of our children’s intellectual and moral development."

Later that day, Massie reflected on his solitary opposition to the CARES Act during its passage in March 2020. He remarked: "In March of 2020, I was the only member of the U.S. House of Representatives who would stand to oppose the $2.2 trillion CARES Act (COVID stimulus). I pointed out it was the biggest wealth transfer in history, and I predicted it would cause inflation and prolong the shutdowns."

Continuing his critique of the CARES Act on March 19, 2025, Massie commented on its impact on socio-economic classes: "The poor and working class were devastated by the 2020 CARES Act. Those $1200 checks were the cheese in the trap. Most of the trillions of dollars in that bill went to corporations. Eventually, the inflation it created mugged everyone except Wall Street."
