Thomas Massie, a U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky's 4th district since 2012, has recently expressed his support for President Trump's agenda through a series of tweets. These messages underscore his commitment to abolishing the Department of Education and navigating legislative strategies to align with presidential goals.

On March 20, 2025, Massie tweeted his support for President Trump's agenda by advocating for "Bravo! Congress should support President Trump’s bold agenda by passing my bill, HR 899 to Abolish the Department of Education." He highlighted the potential use of budget reconciliation and recisions as strategic approaches that require only a simple majority in the Senate.

Later that day, on March 20, 2025, Massie shared further details regarding congressional support for this initiative. He listed those backing Trump's effort to eliminate the Department of Education by mentioning "Here’s a list of Congressmen who support Trump’s effort to terminate the Department of Education." This included naming the 32 cosponsors of HR 899.

The following day, on March 21, 2025, Massie commented on recent legislative actions concerning federal funding. He pointed out that "Inconveniently, the CR that Pres. Trump signed funds 100% of the Department of Education." He critiqued Congress for not passing separate bills which could have allowed Trump more leverage in vetoing specific departmental funding without impacting other government operations.
