Compostable Leaf Bags Available for Purchase

Recology Ashland offers sets of five compostable bags for leaves only year-round for $14.50, which includes curbside collection of the bags. General inquiries may be directed to customerservice103@recology.com.

Each bag is nearly three feet tall and holds up to 35 pounds of leaves. For two weeks only, from October 17th - October 28th, sets of bags will be discounted at $10. There is a two-set limit at this price.

The compostable bags for leaves only are collected curbside in Ashland and Talent on regular Green Debris service days. Those who do not subscribe to Recology Ashland’s Green Debris service may email customerservice103@recology.com to schedule their pickup. Bags may be used all throughout the year.

Recology will host three free community leaf collection events this Fall. In Ashland, two events on Sunday November 20th and December 11th from 10-3 will take place at a new location: the Ashland Police Station parking lot - 1195 East Main Street. In Talent, one event will take place on Saturday December 3rd from 10-3 at Talent City Hall - 110 East Main Street. Participants are asked to arrive with their identification and to take their empty bags of leaves back home with them.

Leaves collected during Ashland & Talent’s community leaf collection events reduce fire risk to the community, maintain storm drain health, and provide the nutrient-rich donation of leaves to local farmers in each city. Those interested in receiving leaves may email jrosenthal@recology.com.

Recology, the City of Ashland, and the City of Talent thanks residents of Talent and Ashland for participating in these free community leaf collection events.
