(COLUMBUS, Ohio)— Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the approval of three projects set to create 295 new jobs and retain 132 jobs statewide.
During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the three projects are expected to result in more than $24 million in new payroll and spur $271 million in investments across Ohio.
Projects approved by the TCA include:
CENTRAL
Infoverity U.S.,Inc, city of Dublin (Franklin County), expects to create 65 full-time positions, generating $7 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in Dublin. Infoverity is a professional services firm that specializes in data management services, offering expertise in areas such as master data management, data governance, and analytics. TCA approved a 1.864%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
NORTHEAST
Welch Packaging Group, Inc., city of Wooster (Wayne County), expects to create 50 full-time positions, generating more than $3.2 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Wooster. Welch Packaging Group is an independent custom cardboard packaging solutions manufacturer catering to a wide range of industries and assisting customers across the Midwest in getting their products to market. The proposed project includes a new production facility of critical supply chain materials with the goal of increasing capacity across six states. TCA approved a 1.370%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
NORTHWEST
MMX Aluminum, LLC; MetalX, LLC, city of Defiance (Defiance County), expects to create 180 full-time positions, generating $14.4 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Defiance. MMX Aluminum specializes in assembling, sorting, recycling, and wholesale distribution of aluminum scrap and waste materials. The proposed project includes site acquisition with a focus on constructing an aluminum recycling and rolling slab facility. TCA approved a 1.915%, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
