Thomas Massie, a U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, has recently expressed his views on various legislative matters through a series of tweets. Known for his outspoken nature and firm stance on fiscal policies, Massie replaced Geoff Davis in Congress and has been an active participant in political discourse.

On March 10, 2025, Massie tweeted about the implications of a Continuing Resolution (CR) that is under consideration. He stated that if passed, the CR would "obligate Trump (from now until September) to spend the same amounts of money on generally the same things Biden spent money on in his last 15 months in office." He further noted that while rescissions could be passed later to undo some spending, there is no commitment to do so. The full tweet can be found here.

In another tweet from the same day, Massie addressed military spending. He commented that "the military industrial complex demands about $50 billion per year in war," pointing out that after ceasing expenditures in Afghanistan, similar funds have been redirected to Ukraine. He questioned where these funds might go next when aid to Ukraine stops and described the military-industrial complex as "always hungry." This tweet is available here.

Later that day, Massie aligned himself with Rand Paul regarding opposition to the CR. In a brief statement, he affirmed his position by tweeting: "Rand is correct. I’m a No as well on this CR." The post can be viewed here.
