The Kenyon College women's track and field team earned a third-place finish as part of the Wooster Invitational, competing in 11 events of 15 at the indoor meet hosted by The College of Wooster. The Owls compiled 79 team points over the afternoon, including one event win and a trio of third-place finishes.

Point Park University, an NAIA school, claimed the top team spot after scoring 225 points. The hosting Fighting Scots slotted in at second with a total of 146, while Oberlin College rounded out the four-team meet with 53 points.

Paula Soric continued her strong start to the season, earning a first-place finish in the long jump early in the event. After being named as the North Coast Athletic Conference's women's track Athlete of the Week following her record-setting long jump performance in the season's first outing, the sophomore recorded a 4.82-meter leap to garner gold for the Owls. Soric also finished fifth in the 60-meter dash, clocking an 8.61.

Kenyon added podium appearances in three other events, including both relay races. The quartet of Alina Secrest, Denna Medrano, Grace Neuger, Mary Shawaker finished the 200-meter relay in 1:56.56, while a team of Medrano, Caeleigh Stamper, Shawaker, and Anna Brown ran the 400-meter relay at a 4:31.19 clip.

Brown also collected Kenyon's second-best finish for an individual event. The first-year finished third in the 800-meter race, where she finished a hair faster than her fourth-place foe, clocking a 2:31.39 compared to her opponent's 2:31.41 mark. Two Owls earned fourth-place finishes, with Ellianne Retzlaff (6:23.31) doing so in the one-mile race and Ella Wilson (11:44.59) finishing fourth in the 3000-meter race.

The Owls will revisit Wooster, Ohio, in one week when The College of Wooster hosts the Fighting Scots Invite at noon on Jan. 21.
