The Kenyon College Swimming and Diving team picked up a 190-110 win over Case Western Reserve University in their penultimate dual before the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, and Ella Campbell was chosen as the NCAC Athlete of the Week for her contributions.
Campbell collected two of Kenyon's 13 event victories on Saturday, finishing first in the 50-yard freestyle and anchoring the Owls' winning 200-yard medley relay team. The win over the Spartans made it three straight victories for Kenyon, boosting the team's dual record to 7-1 this season with one contest left.
The senior rocketed through the 50-yard freestyle sprint in 23.58 seconds, notching a new personal best, clearing an NCAA 'B' cut, and setting a pool record for CWRU's Veale Natatorium in the process. In the 200-yard medley relay win, the Boone, North Carolina, native and the Owls clocked a 1:44.89, clearing another 'B' cut. The winning relay team also featured Lisa Torrecillas-Jouault, Jennah Fadely, and Celia Ford.
Campbell and the Owls will host their final dual of the regular season when Kenyon welcomes NCAA Division I Miami (OH) University to the Steen Aquatic Center on Friday, Jan. 27. The dual is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start, and the Owls will honor their graduating seniors with Senior Day festivities.
