Kenyon College junior Drew Robinson put together a huge week to open the baseball season in Florida. He was rewarded Monday, when the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) announced his selection as winner of its Player of the Week award.
With bat in hand, Robinson went 13-for-24 (.542) with a .577 on-base percentage and a .750 slugging percentage. Overall, he compiled eight RBIs, seven runs, three doubles, three stolen bases, one triple, and one walk to help Kenyon go 4-2 in his six games played.
His highlights included a four-RBI game in a 12-8 win against Elizabethtown before a 5-for-5 performance with three runs and two singles in a 16-3 win against Thiel. The five-single outing tied for the second-most hits in a game in program history. For good measure, the outfielder also had a perfect fielding percentage and added two outfield assists on the week, throwing runners out at third base and home plate in inning-ending plays that saved runs.
Backed by Robinson's numbers, the Owls are off to a 5-3 start with four more games left on their spring-break schedule.
