The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team secured a 61-52 victory over Ball State, marking their third consecutive win. This recent success brings the Falcons' record to 13-16 overall and 7-9 in the Mid-American Conference (MAC), with two games remaining in the regular season.

Javontae Campbell led Bowling Green with 26 points, marking his fifth straight game scoring at least 20 points. Marcus Johnson contributed 15 points, including three of the team's five successful three-pointers. Wilguens Jr. Exacte and Jamai Felt each collected nine rebounds for the Falcons.

The game began evenly matched, with Marcus Johnson scoring all of BGSU's initial points. After an early lead by Ball State, Campbell and Exacte helped keep Bowling Green competitive. The Falcons ended the first half ahead by one point at 25-24.

In the second half, Bowling Green managed to maintain their lead through consistent scoring from Campbell and timely contributions from Derrick Butler and Marcus Johnson. A strong defensive effort allowed them to sustain their advantage until securing the final score of 61-52.

"With the win, the Falcons have won three-straight as well as six of their last eight," noted a team spokesperson. Javontae Campbell's performance was highlighted by his perfect free throw shooting and his contribution to breaking school records for steals in a season.

Marcus Johnson also made notable achievements on his senior night by moving up on BGSU's single-season list for three-pointers made. DaJion Humphrey matched his career-high minutes played while contributing defensively alongside teammates Exacte and Felt who were active on both ends of the court.

Bowling Green will next face Northern Illinois on March 4 before concluding their regular season against Western Michigan on March 7.
