The Falcons maintained their lead for over 39 minutes, marking their second straight game with such dominance. This win advances Bowling Green to a 9-14 record this season and evens their standing in the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge at 1-1. They are set to face Ohio in their next home game on Tuesday.
The game began with both teams exchanging baskets until Bowling Green initiated a significant 26-2 run, leading to a score of 29-6. Coastal Carolina managed to narrow the gap to 33-21 by halftime. In the second half, Bowling Green extended their lead with a quick 7-0 run, eventually securing the win despite Coastal's efforts to close the deficit.
Derrick Butler was instrumental for Bowling Green, scoring 19 points and making five three-pointers. Trey Thomas contributed with 12 points from behind the arc, while Jamai Felt achieved a double-double with 11 points and rebounds each. Marcus Johnson also made an impact with his performance of 11 points, seven rebounds, and four steals.
