The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team is set to face the Kent State Golden Flashes at the Stroh Center on Tuesday night, February 18, as part of a Star Wars-themed event. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. and will be available for viewing on ESPN+. Todd Walker will provide radio commentary on WFRO Eagle 99.

This matchup marks the 175th meeting between the two teams, with Bowling Green holding a narrow lead in their all-time series at 89-85. However, Kent State has dominated recent encounters, winning the last 11 games against Bowling Green. When playing at home, Bowling Green has a record of 52-29 against Kent State, although they lost last year's game at the Stroh Center in overtime.

Tuesday's game will highlight two top defensive players in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) for blocks during conference play. Jamai Felt from BGSU leads with an average of 2.2 blocks per game, while Cli'ron Hornbeak from Kent State ranks third with 1.9 blocks per game.

In addition to basketball action, attendees can enjoy Star Wars-themed activities throughout the evening. The first 300 students attending will receive a themed t-shirt, and halftime entertainment will feature the BG Sabers club.

A victory for Bowling Green would mark their first back-to-back MAC wins this season and end an 11-game losing streak against Kent State. It would also be their first home win over Kent State since March 1, 2019.

Marcus Johnson is currently excelling in free throws, having made his last 26 consecutive attempts. His free throw percentage stands at 90.5%, leading the MAC and ranking him eleventh nationally among qualified players.

Kent State enters this game with a strong performance record since their last encounter with Bowling Green, achieving four wins out of five games played recently.

DaJion Humphrey is approaching a career milestone of 1,000 points after scoring season-high points in recent games following his return from injury.

Javontae Campbell continues to excel defensively with his steals tally reaching second place on BGSU's single-season list. He aims to surpass DeMar Moore's program record of steals set during the 1996-97 season.

Bowling Green features three players who have attempted over 130 three-pointers each this season: Marcus Johnson, Trey Thomas, and Derrick Butler—an achievement unmatched by any other team in the MAC.

Defensively strong performances were noted in previous games where BGSU recorded significant numbers of steals and blocks as a team effort led by DaJion Humphrey and Javontae Campbell.
