Erin Fahey Head Women's Golf Coach | Bowling Green State University Athletics
Bowling Green State University has announced the appointment of Tyler Nickol as the new assistant coach for the women's golf team. Head coach Erin Fahey made the announcement, highlighting Nickol's background in collegiate golf and his recent achievements.
"We are so excited to have Tyler Nickol join our coaching staff," said Fahey. "Tyler stood out throughout the entire process with his passion for the game, for assisting student-athletes, and overall character. Welcome to BG, Tyler!"
Nickol is from Avon, Indiana, and played on the men's golf team at Kentucky Wesleyan College from 2021 to 2024. During his time there, he was recognized twice with Great Midwest Athletic Conference All-Conference honors in 2022-23 and 2023-24. In 2024, he was named a Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholar and won the GMAC Championships by shooting a score of 209, finishing seven under par.
Before joining Bowling Green State University, Nickol worked as an Assistant Golf Professional at Ulen Country Club in Lebanon, Indiana. There he gained experience instructing golfers at different skill levels. He also served as a Tournament Operations Intern at the American Junior Golf Association, where he assisted with event planning and administration for junior tournaments.
"I am honored to join the women's golf program at Bowling Green State University," said Nickol. "As I step into this new role, I look forward to working alongside Coach Erin Fahey to support the development of our current and future student-athletes — both on and off the course. I'm excited to bring my experiences as a former collegiate player and coach to the program."
