Bowling Green State University has announced the addition of Mayar Wol to its men's basketball roster for the 2025-26 season. Head coach Todd Simon confirmed the signing on Friday. Wol, a 6-foot-8 forward from Raleigh, North Carolina, transfers to BGSU after playing the previous season at Eastern Kentucky.
Wol played in 32 games for Eastern Kentucky during the 2024-25 season, starting in 20 of them and averaging nearly 24 minutes per game. He will have two years of eligibility with the Falcons.
"Mayar is a proven impactful player that fits what we do very well," said Simon. "His skill level and length at his position are valuable. He's an excellent rebounder, can really shoot and thrives in playing up tempo. Defensively, his versatility and length will be fits for our schemes. His accolades and coming from winning programs is exciting for us."
While at Eastern Kentucky, Wol earned Sixth Man of the Year honors in the Atlantic Sun Conference. He averaged 8.9 points per game and shot just over 40 percent from the field. From three-point range, he posted a 32.9 percent mark and converted on 75.5 percent of his free throws. Wol also contributed an average of 4.8 rebounds per game, along with 28 assists, 26 steals, and 14 blocks over the season.
He scored double-digit points in thirteen games last year, including back-to-back games with more than twenty points against West Georgia on February 13 and Queens on February 15.
Before joining Eastern Kentucky, Wol began his college career at College of Charleston during the 2023-24 season where he appeared in twenty-two games with limited minutes off the bench.
Wol attended Word of God Christian Academy prior to college and was ranked as the No. 90 recruit nationally by recruiting service 247Sports.
